微软介绍了一个新的工具，用来帮助MySQL用户把他们数据迁移到微软的SQL Server数据库。这个工具叫 SQL Server迁移助手(SSMA) 。MySQL因Oracle-SUN收购案，，前途未卜，微软推出数据库迁移工具意在抢占MySQL用户，而微软表示此举是在帮助MySQL用户。

有兴趣朋友可以点击这里下载，这个工具有二个版本，一个是MySQL到SQL Server 2005另外一个是SQL Server 2008 到SQL Azure。SQL Azure是微软云计算关系数据库。这二个工具都支持Windows 7, Vista，XP，同样也支持Windows 2008/2003。对于MySQL数据库支持4. 1, 5. 0 和5.1，这二个工具是闭源的，但提供免费使用。
