When deploying prestashop in Linux and mac os x systems, you need to pay attention to modifying the read and write permissions of the prestashop directory, otherwise it will cause the installation to fail or the installation to be inaccessible. Taking apache httpd 2.0 and prestashop 1.6.1 as an example, here are a few things to note:

1. Do not change the permissions of the entire prestashop directory to 777, such as chmod -R 777 prestashop. This will cause the website to be inaccessible after installation. .

2. Before installation, you need to modify the permissions of the config and cache directories to 777, otherwise the installation wizard page cannot be displayed and the browser will be blank. These two directories can be modified recursively, chmod -R 777 config/ cache/.

3. Other directories that need to be modified to 777 permissions include: classes/ log/ img/ mails/ modules/ translations/ upload/ download/;

and themes/default-bootstrap/ directory: lang /cache/pdf/lang/. These directories can be modified ahead of time or after the installation wizard detects permission issues.

If you do not modify the directory permissions before installation, check the access_log log to find the 500 problem. Further check the log php_error_log to find the following errors:

(1) Cannot write temporary file

(2) PHP Fatal error: Class 'Core_Business_ContainerBuilder' not found in /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs/skin1998/config/bootstrap.php on line 27

(3) PHP Fatal error: Class 'Tools' not found in /Applications/XAMPP /xamppfiles/htdocs/skin1998/classes/PrestaShopAutoload.php on line 163
