css3 - 问一下max-width和max-device-width有什么区别啊

Question

max-widht指展示的最大宽度，一般是浏览器窗口宽度。
max-device-width是指所展示使用的设备支持宽度
查到的是这样的解释的
但我现在不明白的是，这两个都是根据设备的分辨率来的了还是其他的什么了总觉得很混淆
再则说到的max-device-width是屏幕宽度，到底是指分辨率的宽度，还是视口的宽度
如果是指适口的宽度，那max-width和max-device-width不就是指的一个宽度么
两者之间的区别到底是什么了？？？
