18个月前该公司在TechStars Cloud和GigaOM Stacey Higginbotham发布了它的模型,虽然公司的未来尚属一个未知数,但是当下一切进展顺利。
据该公司的联合创始人兼CEO Andrew Cronk所说,TempoDB在物联网领域有着很大的优势,可以帮助剔除大量来自传感器及连接设备的时间戳数据。该领域的公司都非常年轻,在云计算方面都得心应手(TempoDB是一个云数据库),并且精通下一代架构——将应用程序组件作为服务提供,因此不必担心因不同需求而使用多个数据库。
我们是他们业务的自然补充,所以他们无需担心任何遗留问题。
但是物联这个市场尚未定型,Cronk认为可穿戴技术仅仅是通往可植入式技术的垫脚石。他认为,即使是在比较成熟的家庭领域,仍存在许多产生相同数据的 不同协议及载体。他说道:
由于非常新,虽然我们还不清楚如何去赚钱,但是却可以帮助收集所有数据。
然而,这里还有其它通过传感器生成数据流的公司,其中包括石油、天然气、金融服务及制造业等,并且他们也已经开始关注TempoDB。Cronk表示,这个行业充满了太多竞争对手,甚至需要围绕工业与GE和IBM这样的公司展开竞争,但是新的资金可以帮助他们做更多的销售努力,到目前为止这个市场还属于客户引领。
除下物联网和工业互联网,TempoDB还尝试另一方面:芝加哥新兴的技术创业领域。Cronk称TempoDB是城市里少有重视技术的公司,这也是Hyde Park Ventures和Chicago Ventures这两个公司会参投的原因。
