Palm Pre 2的设计延续旧版Pre系列风格，拥有3.1英寸触控显示屏和滑动式全键盘。同时，Palm Pre 2是第一款具备1GHz以上主频处理器的Palm手机，512MB的RAM，500万像素摄像头让其娱乐性和实用性又提升了一个档次。
在发布会上，惠普还着重介绍了备受关注的webOS 2.0操作系统，揭示了webOS2.0操作系统的几大亮点。
True Multitasking：提高了Stacks多任务处理方面性能，用户可以在应用程序和堆栈任务之间进行转换；
Just Type：无论是创建电子邮件、写短息、更新状态、甚至是搜索用户喜欢的网站，WebOS 2.0会提供搜索功能，这个功能是面向开发商开放的。而这种搜索的实现还有赖于Quick Actions的快速操作功能。
Flash：浏览器支持AdobeFlashPlayer 10.1和Html5；
HP Synergy：Palm第一个提出了协合概念，将Exchange、Gmail、Yahoo、LinkedIn、Facebook等多个不同帐户的资料全部同步到手机端并捆绑在一起。在webOS 2.0中Palm将此项功能开放给了第三方的开发者，可以将更加本地化的网络服务融入其中。
