而在2008年4月末,MySQL在北京与SUN公司合并之后的首次中国亮相中,Sun大中华区软件部总监赵晓亮再次强调了Sun要继续开源MySQL的决心。在这次的Sun&MySQL全球巡展中国站活动中,MySQL与中国开发者和合作伙伴进行了广泛交流,并对Sun与MySQL产品进行了全面推广与新特性的讲解,包括MySQL架构说明、性能演示、在Solaris之上的表现,以及Sun X64 Powerhouse等内容。
