在软件设计中，关于多层的设计，有一部份是有关数据库的。
设计上分成这样三层
客户端UI -- 应用服务器 -- 数据库服务器
有个说法是，可以在应用服务器这一层共享使用数据库连接池，从而减轻数据库服务器的负担。
我查了好多资料，但至今为止，没有比较明确的数量级定义，
对于什么级别的服务器硬件，什么数量级的数据库连接，或者说多少个客户端使用数据库，，将对数据库服务器构成压力？
我目前使用的应用大概到这样的级别
1、数据库服务器 DELL R410 ，XEON 四核*2 CPU， 24G内存， SAS 15000RPM硬盘
2、SQL 2005， 5G用户数据库
3、50个左右的客户端
在这样的环境下，哪部份软件设计或是硬件性能更加可能成为瓶颈？请大家指点，谢谢！
