Porsche will pay ,500 towards a new Taycan to steal customers away from Tesla, Lucid, and other competing EV brands

Porsche is willing to offer up to three $1,500 credits, totalling $4,500, as an incentive for US residents with an active financing/leasing plan on an EV from a competing brandincludingTesla, as spotted by InsideEV. The credits will apply to all MY24 and MY25 Porsche Taycans, and how much a customer is eligible to recieve boils down to the duration left on their existing plan.

This very gracious offer is part of Porsche's ongoing 'Welcome to Porsche' campaign, and the exact amount of credits an individual is eligible to receive is listed below:

  • 30-60 days left on the customer's plan: 1 credit worth $1,500
  • 60-90 days left on the customer's plan: 2 credits worth $3,000
  • 90-120 days left on the customer's plan: 3 credits worth $4,500

The Porsche Taycan starts from $99,400 for the single-motor base model and gets a respectable range of 364 miles, thanks to its larger battery. The highest-end 1019 hp Turbo GT (with Weissach Package) trim costs north of $230,000 with a 0-60 time of just 2.1 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph. Comparatively, the base model single-motor Tesla Model S starts from $72,990 and has a range of 402 miles, quite a bit more than the Taycan despite being cheaper.
