Motorola's announcement that the Razr 50 is about to be unleashed on the Chinese market came with teasers of that foldable smartphone alongside a second device of a more conventional, non-flexible form-factor.
Its curved display may make it look like another version of the Edge 50 Fusion; however, it now slated to launch as the S50 Neo, a smartphone backed to "bring high-end fashion to the masses" with its up-to-date rear panel, finished in a choice of 3 Pantone-validated colors.
Nevertheless, it seems possible that the S50 Neo might be finished in plastic rather than glass or vegan leather. Then again, its 50MP main camera (a Sony IMX882 with "AI" features) is official, as is its ability to pack a 5,000mAh battery despite being just 7.59 millimeters (mm) high.
Despite its confirmation as a member of the S series for the Chinese market, the Neo is believed to go global as the Moto G85 - even though it is also still rumored to debut with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 3 rather than the 6s Gen 3 of the purported international model.
Either way, the S50 Neo is now poised to debut alongside the Razr 50 and possible 50 Ultra on June 25, 2024.
