Notcoin [NOT] Leads Web 3 Gaming Craze Dubbed ‘Tap-to-Earn’

Web3 gaming has seen a new level of enthusiasm thanks to "tap-to-earn" crypto games on Telegram, which have quickly gained millions of users. These clicker games let users earn tokens by completing simple tasks like subscribing to YouTube channels, which can then be traded on Telegram's The Open Network (TON) ecosystem. Hamster Kombat, one of these games, has already reached 144 million players in less than 100 days.

The simplicity and familiarity of these games on Telegram have been crucial in onboarding billions of users into Web3, according to an X user and analyst, Alex Kruger, who believes that tap-to-earn crypto tokens are poised to achieve greater success than memecoins.

"Memecoins require new mechanics, which we see with Notcoin," he added.

A recent Bloomberg report also highlighted the potential of these clicker games, describing them as budding "killer apps" that can onboard millions of new users and introduce them to a range of other services like staking, swapping, trading, etc.

Since many of these clicker games are built on TON, including Hamster Kombat, the network effects have become evident. According to Artemis data, the Ton network outperformed the Ethereum network in terms of daily active users during the first half of June.

It's important to note that while this craze is undeniable, it remains to be seen whether it will continue to thrive after the market run or fade away, similar to what happened with Axie Infinity during the previous market cycle.
