Powkiddy V10 launching soon as Anbernic RG280V lookalike with performance upgrades

In recent weeks, Anbernic has dominated when it comes to revealing new retro gaming handhelds. Specifically, the company has released the RG28XX, RG35XX SP and RG Cube since late April. By contrast, Powkiddy has only introduced the RGB20SX (curr. $102.99 on Amazon), a 1:1 option that it markets as being powerful enough to emulate Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS and PlayStation 1 games thanks to its Rockchip RK3566 chipset.

However, it has now announced the V10, which looks a lot like the RG280V that Anberic launched in late 2020. Unsurprisingly, the V10 is significantly more powerful than theRG280V, which Anbernic equipped with the Ingenic JZ4700, a 40 nm and MIPS-based chipset. With that being said, Powkiddy has equipped the V10 with the RK3226, a quad-core chipset with ARM Cortex-A35 CPU cores and a Mali-G31 GPU.

Additionally, Powkiddy has equipped the V10 with 1 GB of DDR3L RAM, a 3,000 mAh battery and a 3.5-inch IPS display that outputs at 480x 320 pixels. Also, while the device will lack any built-in storage, it has a microSD card slot that can house up to 256 GB capacity cards. Moreover, the V10 is said to support charging and OTG support through its USB Type-C port, as well as a 3.5 mm jack. Currently, Powkiddy has not confirmed how much the V10 will cost, let alone availability. Instead, it claims that it will announce 'affordable' pricing soon.
