XREAL (formerly Nreal) has not yet started shipping its last product. For context, the company presented the Air 2 Ultra in January at CES 2024, a pair of augmented reality (AR) glasses that build on its earlier efforts with various hardware improvements. Initially, it hoped to have fulfilled pre-orders by now, which it has set at $699. However, the Air 2 Ultra is now not scheduled to begin shipping until early next month.
According to XREAL's website, global Air 2 Ultra deliveries will start shortly before those for the Beam Pro, which it showcased in China at the end of last month. As far as we can tell, the global version of the Beam Pro maintains the same features as its Chinese counterpart; please see our original launch article for full hardware details. Surprisingly, XREAL has priced the Beam Pro aggressively too, outside China.
Specifically, the Beam Pro starts at $199 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, compared to $119 for the original XREAL Beam. Alternatively, XREAL is selling a version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for a $50 uplift. Moreover, the Beam Pro can be picked up as part of XREAL Air, Air2 or Air2 Pro bundles for moderate overall discounts. With that being said, XREAL is emailing a $50 discount code against either Beam Pro SKU to any first-generation Beam adopter, provided they purchased the device before June 15, 2024. Please see XREAL's product page for more details.
