Blockchain sleuth ZachXBT has revealed that controversial entrepreneur Martin Shkreli has claimed to be the co-creator of DJT, the Solana token themed after Donald Trump.

ZachXBT posted that the securities fraud convict messaged him privately on X, stating that he had “over 1,000 pieces of evidence” that he created the DJT token.

“You are now legally obligated to help me get credit for DJT,” Shkreli wrote in the message, which also included a link to a video of Trump discussing NFTs.

ZachXBT, who has been searching for the creator of DJT after blockchain data platform Arkham announced a $150,000 bounty for the information, said that he had accepted the challenge and that he is “personally fascinated” by the Trump token.

“This is the weirdest crypto bounty I’ve ever seen,” he said in a tweet on Dec. 22. “I’m going to try to claim it for the lulz.”

ZachXBT also cited an alleged link between DJT and Shkreli with blockchain transaction data that showed one large DJT holder selling off $832,000 worth of the tokens for USDC stablecoin. Notably, this same wallet also held a substantial amount of tokens from Shkreli’s project, Shoggoth.ai.

Meanwhile, Shkreli has been claiming that DJT is the token officially associated with the Trump campaign, despite a statement from the Trump campaign that it is not officially affiliated with any cryptocurrency projects.

“This is the Trump token. Anything else is a scam,” Shkreli said in a Truth Social post on Dec. 21. “We are making history with the first presidential campaign token.”

In a follow-up post, Shkreli added: “They are trying to cancel us, but we are unstoppable. Together with Barron, we created DJT to help our country. Keep buying.”
