To those who have been around the cryptocurrency field for a long time already, as well as to those who are just starting out, the official marketing specialist of the Shiba Inu developer team, who prefers to be called Lucie, took to the social media platform X (which was once popularly known as Twitter) to offer a significant warning.
Shiba Inu’s marketing specialist Lucie has warned the SHIB community about escalating crypto scams.
Lucie, who prefers to go by her first name, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share an important message with both crypto veterans and newcomers.
"Be careful and not naive in the crypto space - always do your own research and due diligence," @LucieSHIB wrote in a brief message on social media, cautioning all participants in the crypto sphere to exercise caution in light of the prevalence of scammers operating within the market.
Crypto Scammers Targeting SHIB Holders Both seasoned traders and investors with years of experience and beginners in the cryptocurrency field are targeted by these cybercriminals.
Earlier this week, Ledger, a major cryptocurrency hardware wallet producer, warned the crypto community about a new kind of scam called "address poisoning."
Ledger's Warning on Address Poison Scams Scammers fund their own wallets with a small amount of money or non-fungible tokens. The address is used to trick users into thinking it's their own wallet when they want to send cryptocurrency by adding the sender's (the scammer's) wallet to the transaction list.
This new scam began affecting TRX, MATIC, and ETH wallets recently, and the Ledger team outlined its mechanics in a brief thread. At some point, a user's wallet will receive unexpected coins or NFTs.
The Ledger team advises against engaging in any transactions involving these coins and NFTs and recommends concealing them from view.
