Chery recalls 3,037 Tiggo 5x vehicles due to potential risk of wheel loss

On June 21, the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation showed that Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. recently reported to the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products" and the "Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products" A recall plan is on file.

Chery has decided to recall some Chery Tiggo 5x vehicles produced from August 22, 2023 to October 30, 2023, starting from June 21, 2024, a total of 3,037 vehicles.

Due to the welding equipment of some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the rear axle longitudinal arm and the casing may not be welded firmly. In extreme cases, the welding joint between the rear axle longitudinal arm and the casing may separate, causing the wheel to lose control, posing a safety hazard.

Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. will check the production date code of the rear axle of the vehicles within the recall scope for free. If it belongs to a defective batch, the rear axle will be replaced for free to eliminate safety hazards.
