The Aqara Starry Magic Knob V1 has appeared in China. The smart home gadget can control a range of devices, such as smart lights and curtains. Plus, the product has won a 2024 iF Design Award for its user experience.

The Magic Knob V1 is a stepless rotary dial with an integrated touch display. The knob provides feedback via vibrations and can register rotations as small as 0.07°. Controls are set over two pages, with various layouts on offer. Other adjustable settings include time and weather, and a Dynamic Mode adjusts the screen based on the chosen function. Plus, you can customize the gadget’s appearance with UI themes, screensavers, and four available hardware styles.

You can use the knob to control individual devices or scenes combining multiple products with 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi connectivity. Other features include human presence detection, and the screen illuminates when it senses a hand nearby thanks to millimetre wave radar technology. You can now buy the Aqara Starry Magic Knob V1 in China for 999 yuan (~€128). The iF Design Awards page indicates that the product will also be launched in North America and Europe. Aqara already sells various products in these markets like the Smart Lock U100.
