Back when the Steam Deck OLED launched, Valve confirmed it would eventually replace the existing LCD model. It appears the company is still sitting on some unsold inventory, as it has announced a 15% price cut for the 64 GB and 512 GB Steam Deck LCD models.
You can now buy them for $296.65 and $381.65 (both pre-tax), respectively. The discount is valid till July 11. If you want to save even more cash, you can get a refurbished Steam Deck directly from Valve. Then again, the price difference are much lower now and it would make little sense to opt for the latter unless you're on a shoestring budget.
While the entry-level 64 GB Steam Deck looks like a no-brainer for ~$300, you're better off getting the 512 GB model if your wallet permits it, especially if you plan on playing resource-heavy games like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3. If you want to use your deck for indies or as an emulation machine, the 64 GB version plus a micro SD card should suffice.
Otherwise, you could buy the 64 GB model now and upgrade its onboard M.2 2230 NVMe SSD with a higher capacity, off-the-shelf option. The Steam Deck is one of the most repairable consoles on the market and there are plenty of high-quality guides that will walk you through the process.
