NAIROBI (CoinChapter.com) — Investcorp announced a strategic partnership with Securitize to explore fund tokenization opportunities within Investcorp's Strategic Capital Group (ISCG).

Investcorp, a leading global alternative asset manager, announced a strategic partnership with Securitize, a digital asset securities platform, to explore fund tokenization opportunities within Investcorp’s Strategic Capital Group (ISCG). The partnership aims to provide qualified investors with access to ISCG’s general partner (GP) staking strategy through a tokenized fund.

This partnership marks a significant development in the integration of blockchain technology into alternative asset management. It follows Investcorp’s recent launch of a digital assets private markets platform and its participation in the tokenization of a commercial real estate property in 2023.

ISCG, launched in 2019, manages approximately $1.5 billion in assets and has completed 12 investments. The unit acquires minority interests in asset management firms, rather than investing in the underlying funds that they manage. ISCG is positioned among the most active GP stakes investors.

Tokenizing assets, ranging from government bonds to real estate, enhances efficiency and liquidity while increasing the velocity of money. By 2030, the market for digitized assets is projected to grow to $2 trillion, according to McKinsey & Company.

This asset class is also attracting institutional investors to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. As reported by Blockworks in May, institutions are waiting for the tokenized commercial real estate market to mature before entering.
