New Xiaomi 15 Pro leak hints at a missing camera feature present in its predecessor

Digital Chat Station, a well-known Weibo tipster, has shared some new info about the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Pro. The latest report shares that the Android flagship will come with a new single aperture primary camera, and it would be a wide 50 MP "super large" sensor.

This suggests that we may not see a variable aperture feature found in the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Digital Chat Station further claims that the upcoming phone will pair the primary camera with a 50 MP telephoto sensor that features 3x optical zoom. To compare, the predecessor had a 3.2x 50 MP telephoto camera.

While the latest report doesn't shed light on the ultrawide camera, previous rumors claimed that it would be a 50 MP sensor as well. They also reported the primary camera would be an OmniVision OV50K sensor, while the periscope sensor will reportedly be the Sony IMX882.

Besides these, the Weibo tipster says that the Xiaomi 15 Pro will be a little thinner than its predecessor. Digital Chat Station also shared that the phone will feature a 2K micro-curved screen, a large-sized battery, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

A previous leak on Xiaomi 15 claimed that the non-Pro phone was being tested with a variable aperture primary camera, an upgrade from the predecessor (12/512 GB curr. $785 on Amazon). Earlier rumors suggested that the vanilla smartphone will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and a large battery.
