Samsung is offering Galaxy Watch users a chance to experience new health and sleep tracking features through the One UI 6 Watch beta program. This was initially available for Galaxy Watch6 (which smashed our display brightness test) and Watch6 Classic owners only; its availability has just been extended to Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5.
One UI 6 Watch beta focuses on AI-powered features designed to provide users with an in-depth report on their well-being. One key addition is Energy Scores, which combines sleep data with other metrics to assess the user's physical and mental performance throughout the day. For improved sleep analysis, the beta offers a more detailed breakdown of sleep quality, including insights into heart rate, respiratory rate, and the time it takes to fall asleep.

In addition to sleep tracking, the beta introduces new gesture controls which allow users to navigate the interface by simply moving their wrist back and forth. Additionally, users can now choose which apps send notifications directly to their watch. The beta also brings a few quality-of-life improvements such as the option of saving images from messages and the Bluetooth connection getting automatically activated when starting music playback on the watch, streamlining the process of connecting to headphones or speakers.
The official announcement for these features is expected at Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10th. The good news is that Galaxy Watch6, Watch5, and Watch4 owners (excluding special editions) can download the beta program right now through the Samsung Members app and see for themselves if these new features are actually useful.
