


CATL and LG New Energy will supply lithium iron phosphate batteries to Renault subsidiary Ampere
According to news on July 2, LG New Energy Company (LGES) recently revealed that it has reached an important agreement with Renault’s electric vehicle subsidiary Ampere to provide it with lithium iron phosphate batteries. This cooperation marks the first time that LG New Energy has supplied this type of battery on a large scale. Ampere said it has incorporated lithium iron phosphate technology into its future mass production plans. To achieve this goal, Ampere has joined hands with LG New Energy (through its Polish factory) and Chinese battery giant CATL (through its Hungarian factory) to build a complete value chain in Europe. This cooperation will inject new vitality into the European electric vehicle market.
- Renault Ampere and LG New Energy will cooperate over the next five years, in which LG New Energy will provide 39 GWh LFP battery packs, enough to support 590,000 electric vehicles.
