Supra is a new blockchain whose vertical integration of oracles, automation, bridges and randomness offers one of the most powerful Layer 1 networks. Besides giving developers a robust platform to build their super dApps, Supra also offers other features, such as oracle price feeds, to over 80 blockchains.

Supra announced Tuesday that it has verified the KYC information for 512,000 users who will participate in the upcoming Blast Off airdrop.

Supra’s KYC verification takes aim at one of the industry’s biggest challenges — bots farming airdrops. As the crypto industry continues to become lucrative, airdrops have become a critical avenue for savvy traders to earn the most anticipated tokens. However, several major projects have been plagued by instances of fake farm accounts, known in the sector as “Sybil attacks.” While several solutions have been suggested, including instant bans for bot accounts, the challenge persists.

Supra dared to dream of a more permanent solution that involved significantly more resources and effort. It partnered with Onfido.com, a digital identity solution, to verify the KYC information of its airdrop participants in the industry’s largest campaign of it’s kind.

CEO Joshua Tobkin hailed the achievement as monumental and precedent-setting in the sector. Supra had to not only attract the numbers but also have them commit to the KYC process, which Tobkin described as “a significant achievement for us.”

He added:

I’m not sure the industry has ever seen such a large number of KYC’d human users become token holders from day 1 of a new blockchain, and we’re really proud of the support the crypto community has shown us.

As the token generation event (TGE) approaches, Supra is readying to distribute its $SUPRA tokens to over half a million real humans in over 190 countries. It will also issue the token to investors who participated in its public token sale last October. After receiving the tokens, this pioneering group will be onboarded on the Supra Layer 1 blockchain as the founding members of its core community.

CEO Tobkin added:

“Implementing KYC wasn’t easy, it came with its own unique challenges, but it was crucial to protect our community from bots and farmers. Even with liveness and proofs of personhood checks in place, our Project Blast Off has amassed one of the largest user bases in Web3, and soon they’ll all be onboarded to our L1 blockchain.”

As the TGE and network launch approach, Supra also announced the Super dApp Showdown in which the most innovative projects seeking to deploy on its blockchain will get a slice of a $100 million ecosystem fund.
