ApeCoin DAO members have overwhelmingly supported a proposal to open an APE-themed hotel in central Bangkok.

The proposal, known as AIP-448, received over 91% of the votes in favor. Voting began on July 18, and at press time, 4.6 million APE had been cast in favor, while 411,000 APE opposed the initiative, representing 8.16% of the total votes.

AIP-448 aims to combine intellectual property, hospitality, the arts, and cryptocurrency in a single venture. The proposed establishment will feature ApeCoin-centric exhibitions, an APE-themed bar, and various rooms decorated to represent different APE communities. Other amenities could include an APE-branded swimming pool and dedicated exhibition spaces.

To make this vision a reality, the ApeCoin Hotel is seeking 410,000 APE from the ApeCoin ecosystem fund. Voting on the proposal will conclude on July 31. The DAO sees the hotel as a multi-faceted initiative to promote ApeCoin, ApeChain, and various APE communities.

Half of the revenue generated from themed rooms is proposed to be allocated to the ApeCoin DAO treasury for one year. The hotel will also accept ApeCoin as a payment method, demonstrating the cryptocurrency’s practical utility and potentially increasing its circulation.

The hotel project includes several community-driven initiatives, such as offering 50 complimentary nights of accommodation to APE holders and providing free access to select hotel facilities for community members. A unique check-in process will require guests to verify their ApeCoin Forum membership and wallet balance upon arrival.
