United States Senator Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) has welcomed former President Donald Trump to Nashville for the Bitcoin 2024 conference. Taking place this weekend, the event is touted to be the biggest crypto conference in the world.

Senator Hagerty took to X (Twitter) to announce Trump’s arrival in Music City for the conference. He also noted that the event will see the attendance of several influential speakers, friends and colleagues from Washington, D.C.

The Bitcoin Conference Effect

Being conducted in the state represented by Hagerty, the U.S. Senator used the opportunity to once again reiterate his support for crypto. He noted that Bitcoin and crypto were key issues in Washington, DC.

Additionally, he also stated, “I am continuing to fight to pass pro-Bitcoin and pro-crypto legislation that promotes the core principles of freedom, opportunity and limited governance.”

The Bitcoin 2024 conference kicked off on Friday with several speakers taking to the stage. Among them were MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor, Blockstream CEO Adam Back and Swan Bitcoin CEO Cory Klippsten.

Bitcoin 2023 In Review Last year’s Bitcoin 2023 conference also saw the attendance of several key figures in the crypto space. This included Saylor, Back and Klippsten, who returned for this year’s event.

Other speakers at the 2023 conference included FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino and Kraken CEO Jesse Powell. Among the topics discussed were Bitcoin mining, NFTs, decentralized finance (DeFi) and more.

Bitcoin 2023 also saw the announcement of several new initiatives. Among them was Saylor’s announcement of a new Bitcoin mining council. Additionally, Ardoino also announced a new stablecoin alliance.

Bitcoin price reacted positively to the event last year, rallying to highs of $25,000 shortly after. At the time of writing, BTC trades at $23,200, down 2% over the past 24 hours.
