Bitcoin mining hardware manufacturer MicroBT announced several new WhatsMiner models at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee, highlighting a strong emphasis on green mining technologies.
Dr. Zuoxing Yang, CEO and Founder of MicroBT, took to the stage to deliver a speech about the company’s progress toward sustainable mining solutions.
During this address, Dr. Yang unveiled several new models of the WhatsMiner series, catering to air, hydro and immersion cooling systems. The flagship models include the air-cooling M60S+, hydro-cooling M63S+ and M64, as well as immersion-cooling M66S+.
notably, the maximum hash rate for M60S+ is 210TH/s and has a power efficiency of 17J/T. The hydro-cooled M63S+ boasts up to 450TH/s hash while the outlet water temperature can get to 80℃ (176℉) in the case of model M64, setting a new industry standard.
Dr. Yang’s keynote also placed a strong focus on the future of solar-powered mining. He projected that by 2026, the electricity cost for solar mining could fall as low as around $0.04 per kWh, making it possible to overcome large barriers to participation in this sphere.
