The crypto community might be set to witness the birth of the next Dogecoin following a recent announcement made by the beloved Kabosu's owner.

A recent announcement by Kabosu’s owner has sparked the creation of several meme coins, with one in particular showing signs of joining the exclusive "billion-dollar" club.

After announcing that she had gotten a new Shiba Inu named "Neiro," the crypto community wasted no time in responding. This is especially noteworthy considering that Kabosu, who passed away earlier this year, served as the inspiration for Dogecoin and a slew of other dog-themed meme coins.

As a direct result of Kabosu Mama's announcement about her new Shiba Inu, several "Neiro-themed" meme coins were launched immediately. Hundreds of Neiro tokens were quickly generated and deployed on the Solana chain by a group of users using the Pump Fun token generator. Several of these tokens even attained market capitalizations in the millions.

On the other hand, the Neiro token on the Ethereum chain has managed to stand out from the crowd despite the high trading volume and the buzz. Among all Neiro-themed tokens across all chains, it has the greatest market capitalization.

According to data provided by DEX Screener, the Neiro token on Ethereum now has a market capitalization of approximately $109 million. In contrast, the highest-ranked Neiro token has a market capitalization of approximately $37 million.

Could Neiro Be the Next Dogecoin?

The meme coin known as ETH Neiro has risen above the $100 million market threshold, sparking speculation that it may become the next Dogecoin. The narrative that Neiro is a replacement for Kabosu (which inspired Dogecoin) is gaining traction in the crypto community because Neiro was adopted after Kabosu's death.

Since Neiro is also considered to be "sister" to Kabosu, the Neiro token is anticipated to experience success comparable to that of DOGE. As a result, some crypto analysts, such as Jake Gagain, believe that the ETH Neiro might easily reach a market capitalization of $1 billion or even more.

Because of the overabundance of Neiro tokens on the Solana chain, the ETH Neiro is also being hailed as the "clear victor" among all Neiro-themed tokens. This creates a clear path for the ETH Neiro to join the "billion-dollar" meme club while liquidity is being distributed among the various Solana Neiro tokens.

Despite this, the blockchain analytics tool Bubblemaps has cast some doubt on ETH Neiro by revealing that the token's supply is heavily controlled, with 78% of the supply being sniped at launch. However, ETH Neiro holders appear to be unfazed by this development, especially given that the meme coin has continued to reach new all-time highs (ATH) since then.

If ETH Neiro does eventually reach a market capitalization of $1 billion, it will join Dogecoin, Shiba Inu (SHIB), Bonk (BONK), Dogwifhat (WIF), and Floki (FLOKI) as the only dog-themed meme coins to do so. In the process, it will become only the third dog-themed token on Ethereum to attain such status, joining Shiba Inu and FLOKI.
