Google Pixel 9 Pro XL rumoured to launch with lower starting price but still $100 more than last year\'s Pixel 8 Pro
More details about Google's next large flagship smartphone continue to emerge online just days before its release. In the last few days, new footage of a future Google Pixel desktop mode has been shared, as have hands-on photos of the Pixel 9 Pro XL itself. Additionally, multiple sources provided evidence of US pricing for the Pixel 8 Pro successor, along with equivalent prices for the smaller Pixel 9 Pro.
In summary, it appeared that Google intended to offer the Pixel 9 Pro for $999.99. However, it is unclear whether this price applies to 128 GB or 256 GB of storage variants. Moreover, the same leak suggested that the Pixel 9 Pro XL would retail for $1,199.99, a considerable uplift over thePixel 8 Pro(curr. $699 on Amazon).
According to @MysteryLupin, this will not actually be the case. Instead, the leaker claims that the Pixel 9 Pro XL will start at $100 cheaper before factoring in pre-order discounts and deals. Even so, a $1,099 launch price would see the device costing $100 more than its direct predecessor with 128 GB of storage. Currently, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is expected to be one of over half a dozen devices that Google unveils on August 13. For reference, the other devices that the company is rumoured to be showcasing next Tuesday's are as follows:
- Pixel 9
- Pixel 9 Pro
- Pixel 9 Pro Fold
- Pixel Buds Pro 2
- Pixel Watch 3 41 mm
- Pixel Watch 3 45 mm
