MOOV is back with its new Ring, which is one of a handful such wearables that claims to be able to measure blood pressure as well as other markers of health such as blood oxygen.
Moreover, the OEM asserts that it can do so continuously in accordance with standards such as ISO 81060-2and those of the AAMIwith the photoplethysmogramy (PPG) sensor also found in some smartwatches: a claim bigger than any made for even the new SamsungGalaxyRing.
The MOOV Ring is also rated to support a temperature sensor, although it seems to be involved in the wearable's sleep or stress readings, which are analysed using "advanced AI" for display in its apparently subscription-free app.
It also has aluminum SKUs in Dark Green as well as Rose Gold, alongside other SKUs described as White Ceramic, Black Ceramic and Brushed Silver Titanium. Furthermore, MOOV claims to be able to deliver all that as an Indiegogo Perk starting at$239 (or 20% off its eventual RRP), as opposed to $399 for the Galaxy Ring on Amazon.
The company has already collected over $91,000 in funding on the platform at the time of writing, with 22 days left to go. Presuming all goes well with this campaign, MOOV aims to ship the Ring worldwide by December 2024.
