New Apple iPhone 16 design and colours shown in comparison video against iPhone 15

The launches of Apple's next iPhones are not expected for at least another month. Nonetheless, footage showing dummy iPhone 16 units in what are said to be official launch colours continues to emerge online.

Incidentally, while Google previously released new Pixel flagships in the autumn, it has brought forward the release of its new flagships to next week, including its second-generation foldable. While a photo showing dummy iPhone 16 units surfaced last month, this has now been superseded by a video in which Apple's next smartphones have been compared with the current iPhone 15 (curr. $699 - premium renewed on Amazon).

Surprisingly, the iPhone 16 looks much more colourful than its predecessor. For context, while entry-level iPhones of the past have had deep colourways, Apple cited the adoption of a new glass type as the reason why theiPhone 15andiPhone 15 Plushave a more muted appearance. Arguably, just as big of a change is the switch to a vertically orientated camera housing.

Not only has Apple repositioned the primary camera, but it has also pushed the LED flash array outside the camera housing, like theiPhone SEand theiPhone 8before that. Moreover, the iPhone 16 appears to be a tad taller than its predecessor, which will allegedly be joined by thinner display bezels. While the latter cannot be seen in the video above, the new action and capture buttons are visible.
