Apple iPhone 16 shown in new leaks with rumoured design changes

The iPhone 16 has now been shown off in a series of hands-on photos, as well as an accompanying short video. To recap, dummy units have been doing the rounds in recent weeks, culminating in a comparison video showcasing Apple's Pixel 9 rival against the existing iPhone 15 (curr. $709.97 - renewed premium on Amazon).

Unfortunately, the hands-on images do not give too many details away about the upgrades headed to the iPhone 16. Nonetheless, they currently serve as the clearest shots yet of Apple's new rear panel set-up, which combines a matte glass back with a vertically arranged dual camera set-up. Please note that while the new camera housing also contains a microphone hole, Apple has shifted the LED flash array into a dedicated rear panel cut-out.

Not only does the video below align with the photos published on Weibo, but it also appears to show other changes headed to this year's entry-level iPhone. Contradicting recent claims by Mark Gurman, it seems that the iPhone 16 features not only an Action Button but also Apple's rumoured capture button. Although Apple has not commented on the latter yet, it is expected to be touch-sensitive and can interpret not only short or long taps but also swipe gestures. As it stands, these are only believed to be usable within Apple's default camera app.
