[ITBEAR] August 15 news: Recently, a test platform equipped with Intel’s new Core Ultra 5 245K processor was unveiled on Geekbench. The platform is built on the Colorful iGame Z890 ULTRA motherboard. This processor shows strong performance potential, indicating that it will become a powerful successor to the i5-14600K. The Core Ultra 5 245K processor is equipped with 6 P cores and 8 E cores, for a total of 14 cores and 14 threads. The base operating frequency is 4.20 GHz and can be accelerated to 5.2 GHz. It also has 24 MB of L3 cache, and a (PL1) TDP of 125W. This configuration allows the Ultra 5 245K to show significant improvements in multi-core performance.

The test platform is equipped with 32 GB DDR5 memory and runs Windows 11 system. In the Geekbench 5.4.5 Tryout for Windows x86 benchmark test, the Ultra 5 245K achieved a single-core score of 2248 points and a multi-core score of 18354 points, surpassing the i9-12900K processor in all aspects. In comparison, the i9-13900K scored 2280 points in single-core and 25854 points in multi-core in Geekbench 5, while the i9-14900K scored 2410 points in single-core and 26901 points in multi-core.

According to ITBEAR, compared with Core i5-14600K (2210/15533 points), Ultra 5 245K has improved multi-core performance by 18.1%, while single-core performance has only improved by 2%. However, given that there is only one benchmark sample, this result cannot yet be used as a representative of general performance.

The main specs comparison of Core Ultra 5 245K and i5-14600K shows that although both have 14 cores, the frequency range and cache configuration of Ultra 5 245K are different. Intel is expected to launch three "Arrow Lake-S" processors at next year's On technology innovation conference, including Core Ultra 9 285K (F), Ultra 7 265K (F) and Ultra 5 245K (F). Later this year, Intel will also share more details about Arrow Lake desktop processors, and we will bring you more related reports in the future.

The following is an overview of some specifications of the Arrow Lake-S series processors:

  • Ultra 9 285K: Lion Cove / Skymont architecture, 24 cores and 24 threads, frequency 5.7 / 5.4 GHz, E-core full core frequency 4.6 GHz, 36 MB L3 cache, 125W TDP.
  • Ultra 7 265K: Lion Cove/Skymont architecture, 20 cores and 20 threads, frequency 5.5/5.2 GHz, E-core full core frequency 4.6 GHz, 33 MB L3 cache, 125W TDP.
  • Ultra 5 245K: Lion Cove/Skymont architecture, 14 cores and 14 threads, frequency 5.0/5.2 GHz, E-core full core frequency 4.6 GHz, 24 MB L3 cache, 125W TDP.

In addition, there are several Arrow Lake series processors with a power consumption of 65W coming soon, including Ultra 9 275, Ultra 7 255 and Ultra 5 240, but their specific specifications have not yet been announced. -->
