Xiaomi has announced a new Android tablet that will launch under the Poco branding. It's called the Poco Pad 5G, and the tab is set to launch in India on August 23. The first-ever table that launched under the Poco brand was revealed in Mayof this year, and it seems that not much will change on the upcoming device.
As per the teaser video shared by Poco on X, the new Poco Pad 5G will feature a 12.1-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 16:10 aspect ratio, up to 600 nits of brightness, and TÜV Rheinland certifications. All these screen specs match the display of the Android tablet launched in May.
Besides that, the company hasn't shared any additional details of the upcoming Android tablet. However, given that the display specs are the same and the design also appears to be similar, it could just be a 5G version of the first Poco Pad. To fill you in, that tab launched as a WiFi-only device, but the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC inside has support for 5G connectivity.
The good part is that the Poco Pad 5G is launching on August 23, which is just a week away. So, we don't need to wait long to find out whether the upcoming Android tablet has the same specs as the non-5G variant but with better connectivity. If you want to get a decent mid-range tablet before it launches, consider the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE (8/256 GB WiFi model curr. $399.99 on Amazon).
