“As a political leader, Mr Karunanidhi left an indelible mark on our country’s history as a Chief Minister, who was elected by the people multiple times over the span of decades, underlining his deep understanding of society, policy and politics,” Mr Modi said.

The Prime Minister also recalled Mr Karunanidhi's contributions to the growth of the Dravidian Movement and highlighted his efforts to ensure social justice and equality.

“Kalaignar's vision and thoughts will continue to shape our nation's journey. May this event serve as a fitting tribute to his legacy and inspire future generations,” Mr Modi added.
