According to the company's associated forum post, roughly 50% of Forerunner 255 smartwatches have been offered Beta Version 20.23 so far. However, it should be possible to trigger the update manually by heading to the main menu on a Forerunner 255, followed by Settings, System and Software Update before tapping 'Check for Updates'.
Supposedly, Beta Version 20.23 has caused excessive battery drain on some Forerunner 255 (curr. $289 on Amazon) smartwatches. However, others report that this bug was already present in Beta Version 20.21 and has been carried across to Beta Version 20.23. Unfortunately, it seems that Garmin has not acknowledged this issue at present.
At any rate, Beta Version 20.23 is said to contain 18 changes from earlier beta updates.
