The latest data released by market research company Sano shows:
  1. In the first half of 2024, Chinese display companies accounted for 50.7% of global smartphone OLED display shipments.

    • An increase of 10.1 percentage points from the first half of 2023 (40.6%).
    • The total market share of Korean companies such as Samsung Display and LG Display dropped from 59.4% to 49.3%.
  2. China’s smartphone OLED display market share reached 53.4% in the first quarter, occupying the top spot for the first time.

    • Based on half-year calculation, its market share is 50.7%.
  3. From a single company perspective, Samsung Display still tops the list with a market share of 43.8%, but this has dropped significantly from 51.6% in the same period in 2023.

    • China’s BOE (13.8%) is in second place.

According to Korean media analysis, this is largely due to the fact that Chinese smartphone manufacturers such as Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo have launched a series of smartphones using Chinese-made OLED displays. Visionox's share nearly doubled from 7.4% in the first half of 2023 to 11.3% in the first half of 2024.
