Lenovo announces special Black Myth: Wukong edition charger with 170W fast charging support
The Lenovo Legion C170 is getting a special Black Myth: Wukong edition. This GaN charger was refreshed in Marchof this year, and the design seems to be the only differentiating factor for the special edition. That is, all the core specs are the same as the regular C170 power adapter.
To fill you in, the Legion C170 is a portable charger that's capable of powering up Lenovo Legion gaming laptops (2024 Legion 7i with Core i7 curr. $1,349.99 on Best Buy). It measures 71 x 71 x 31 mm and weighs around 245 grams. The charger comes with a CtoSlim cable, which basically has USB-C on one end and Lenovo's standard Slim connector for laptops on the other.
At the launch of the refreshed edition, Lenovo said that the C170 allows most of the recently launched Legion gaming laptops to run in "performance" mode. This means there will only be a little to no difference in terms of gaming experience when you use this charger instead of the laptop's power adapter.
However, the Lenovo Legion C170 isn't just for laptops. The power adapter has support for QC 3.0, PPS, and PD 3.0, so it can power up smartphones, tablets, and accessories. But yes, as the GaN charger comes with a CtoSlim cable, you will need to get a USB-C to USB-C cable to charge other devices.
Another thing to note about the Legion C170 is that it comes with a single USB-C port. So, unlike the other recently launched fast-charging adapters, you can't power up multiple devices with it. But the good news is that it has support for 170W fast charging, which should get laptops, phones, and other devices charged up quickly.
As for the special Black Myth: Wukong edition, all the aspects mentioned above stay the same. But instead of a regular finish on the exterior, the special edition has gold and black accents with symbols that represent the game.
This special edition of the Lenovo Legion C170 GaN charger will be available to pre-order in China on August 23 at CNY 299 (about $42), and there's no word on global availability yet. Worth noting that the standard version of the C170 didn't officially launch outside China, but it can be bought from third-party retailers.
