The Xiaomi 14 Ultra (curr. $1,091.55 on Amazon) has only just turned six months old. However, there is already plenty of speculation about the whereabouts of its successor.
According to new reports, Xiaomi has no plans to introduce the Xiaomi 15 Ultra alongside the Xiaomi 15 or Xiaomi 15 Pro. Instead, the latter two are expected to be some of the first smartphones to showcase Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 platform this autumn. Nonetheless, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra may not be that far behind.
Reportedly, Xiaomi's next Ultra smartphone could land in January 2025, right on time to disrupt Samsung's Galaxy S25 series launch. Moreover, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is still rumoured to lean heavily on its camera prowess. For example, the device is tipped to showcase 'Concert Videography', which will be optimised to maximise video quality at 30x zoom levels.
Additionally, Xiaomi is anticipated to complement this videography feature with a telephoto camera that outputs at 200 MP across a 1/1.4-inch sensor. With that being said, the camera may only be capable of 4x optical zoom, not 7-8x, as previous rumours suggested. As it stands, this huge 200 MP sensor is slated to arrive alongside a trio of 50 MP sensors, potentially in time for Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations on January 29.
The above is the detailed content of Xiaomi 15 Ultra may launch sooner than expected as details of 200 MP camera leak online. For more information, please follow other related articles on the PHP Chinese website!
