Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a two-day National Conference of the District Judiciary on August 31, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, to mark the 75th anniversary of the Supreme Court's establishment.

President Draupadi Murmu will deliver the valedictory address on September 1, during which she will unveil the new flag and insignia of the Supreme Court.

The conference will bring together over 800 participants from the district judiciary across all states and union territories. It aims to address key challenges faced by the judiciary and foster dialogue on critical issues through six thematic sessions.

One session will focus on "Infrastructure and Human Resources," addressing the need to modernize courtrooms and improve technological integration. Another session, "Courtrooms for All," will explore the importance of making courtrooms accessible and inclusive, especially for marginalized communities. "Judicial Security and Judicial Wellness" will discuss the safety and well-being of judges, including measures to enhance their security.

On the second day, the conference will feature discussions on "Case Management," aimed at reducing the backlog and improving efficiency in case handling. A session on "Judicial Training - Curriculum and Methods" will explore ways to modernize training programs for judges. The final session, "Bridging the Gap," will encourage collaboration between the High Courts and the Supreme Court to support the district judiciary effectively.

The inaugural function will also be attended by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (I/C) for Law and Justice among other dignitaries.
