Atlantic Technologies has unveiled the Nexa 1 Bluetooth Portable Music System, the company's first portable Bluetooth speaker. The company was founded by renowned audiophile Peter Tribeman, who also co-founded NAD.
The portable speaker has two 2.6 inch aluminum drivers and one 4.25 x 1.5 inch passive radiator with a total system output of 60 watts and 98 dB maximum sound pressure level. The speaker has a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with total distortion under 1%. A built-in microphone enables hands-free phone calls. Two Nexa 1 speakers can be paired for stereo sound output.
Music can be streamed wirelessly from up to 328 feet (100 m) away over Bluetooth 5.3. Music can also be played from an external audio device using the 3.5 mm input connector or from audio files stored on an SD card.
The Nexa 1 measures 8.7 x 3.75 x 2.8 inches (22.4 x 9.6 x 7.2 cm) and weighs 2.6 pounds (1.18 kg). The built-in battery has a runtime of 15 hours and a charge time of 3.5 hours using a USB-C charger. The speaker can also reverse charge another Nexa 1 over USB-C. IPX5 water resistance allows use of the speaker at the beach and pool. Waterproof buttons on top control playback and sound settings.
