Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Robot Vacuum Mop H40 in China. This model comes with an intelligent docking station for several weeks of hands-free cleaning and a real-time cutting mechanism to reduce the volume of tangled hair.
The H40's main roller brush features a hidden push knife to cut tangled hair so it can be sucked into the dustbin; similar technology can be found on the older M30 S model from the brand. The robot has up to 6,000Pa suction power with a secondary side brush, and can climb over obstacles up to 4 cm (~1.6 inches) tall. There are two rotating mop pads at the rear, which can lift to avoid wetting a detected carpet or rug, LiDAR navigation and an obstacle avoidance tool. On arriving at the compact dock, the mops are automatically cleaned and dried, ready for their next job, and the onboard dustbin and water tanks are emptied.
With HyperOS Connect, the robot vacuum can be controlled via the Xiaomi app or with Xiao AI voice commands. The Xiaomi Mijia Robot Vacuum Mop H40 is now available to pre-order in China for 2,499 yuan (~$351). It remains to be seen whether or when the model could reach other markets like Europe, where different models like the Robot Vacuum X20+ are already available.
