Lenovo has decided to showcase another concept laptop, having done so earlier this year at MWC 2024 with the ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop. Incidentally, the company brought the Motorola Adaptive Display Concept to the same conference, although this had been shown previously.
This time, it has presented the ThinkBook Auto Twist, which effectively builds on the Surface Laptop Studio 2 (curr. $1,979.99 on Amazon) with a more complicated hinge structure. Specifically, Lenovo claims to have installed a motorised hinge mechanism that can automatically align itself with whoever is looking at the laptop. Thus, the display should be capable of following you around a room if you are nearby, which could be handy when on video calls.
Supposedly, the Auto Twist achieves this by taking recordings from its webcam and analysing them using AI. Added to that, Lenovo has integrated a ChatGPT-style voice assistant that can move the display around using voice commands. Moreover, the Auto Twist will automatically close if you move away from it for a prolonged period. Unfortunately, Lenovo has no plans to bring the Auto Twist to market yet, nor has it offered any indication of the device's technical specifications.
