New Galaxy S25 Ultra camera leak hints at minimal upgrades
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is shaping up to be a mixed bag of upgrades. On the one hand, its battery capacity and charging wattage remains identical to its last-gen counterparts; on the other, it is tipped to receive a much-needed increase in maximum RAM. Those looking for major camera improvements are in for a disappointment, if a new leak from Ice Universe is accurate.
Apparently, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will reuse its telephoto lenses (10 MP Sony IMX754 and 50 MP IMX854). Its primary 200 MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor gets marginal upgrades. The only major change will be a 50 MP ISOCELL JN3 ultra-wide-angle lens. That leaves the selfie camera, but there's no information about that just yet.
That said, the Galaxy S25 Ultra won't necessarily be a lost cause. For starters, it will exclusively run Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC which is shaping up to be a formidable powerhouse. That, combined with increased RAM, could help it perform demanding AI tasks on-device instead of the cloud. However, most upgrades will arrive in the form of software, which is pretty much what happened with the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
