Gardena reveals first boundary wire free robot lawn mower

Gardena has unveiled the Smart Sileno Free robotic lawn mower, which will launch in Europe in 2025. Three versions of the mower will be available to suit the following lawn sizes: 600 m² (~6,458 ft²), 800 m² (~8,611 ft²) and 1,200 m² (~12,917 ft²). This will be the first model from the brand which does not require a boundary wire.

Instead, the Smart Sileno Free uses a satellite navigation system with LONA technology to map your lawn. A Trim-to-Edge feature uses three blades at the rear of the mower to reach areas near a fence or wall, and CorridorCut allows it to work in narrow spaces. Also included are a frost sensor to intelligently delay mowing and an optional PIN coded lock to deter thieves. Cutting height is variable between 25 and 45 mm (~1 and 1.8 inches), and the robot can tackle gradients of up to 30%. You can remotely control the robot and receive updates for the mower via the Gardena app.

The versions of the Gardena Smart Sileno Free robot lawn mower to suit 600 m², 800 m² and 1,200 m² will retail for €1,499.99, €1,799.99 and €1,999.99, respectively. Precisely when they will launch in 2025 remains to be seen.
