Philips Hue has unveiled new square and rectangular Datura Ceiling Lights worldwide. The original round versions of the smart light were launched earlier this year. Now, two further products have been added to the Datura range, a 60 x 60 cm square and a 30 x 120 cm rectangle.
The Datura has two individually controllable white and color light sources. The light at the front illuminates the room, while the second at the rear throws light onto the ceiling for a softer effect. At a color temperature of 4,000K, the lights generate up to 4,300 lumens brightness, with the light source expected to last for 25,000 hours. The smart lights have a similar frameless design to the round version and are suited to many rooms in your home, particularly those with lower ceilings. As with other Philips Hue smart lights, you can remotely control the ceiling panels via the Philips Hue app or use a Hue Bridge to add the products to another smart home ecosystem.
The Philips Hue Datura Ceiling Light in square and rectangular shapes will retail for $399.99/£349.99/€399.99. While Signify has confirmed that these new products will launch in the EU this fall, an exact release date has not been provided. It is unclear when the smart lights will be available to purchase in the US.
