Anbernic appears set to maintain its monthly gaming handheld release schedule for at least another month. Incidentally, it may well introduce a refresh of the RG35XX SP (curr. $89.99 on Amazon) before October rolls around, too.
However, its principal September release will be the RG406V. To recap, Anbernic first showcased the RG406V last week. Nonetheless, it has now confirmed launch pricing, a release date and all key hardware specifications. As expected, the RG406V will ship with hardware borrowed from the RG Cube and RG556:
Additionally, the RG406V will run Android 13 out of the box, just like theRG CubeandRG556. Added to that, the device features Hall effect joysticks surrounded by RGB lighting and six-axis gyroscope controls. Moreover, the RG406V will keep its components using what Anbernic describes as a 'high-speed fan' accompanied by a small heat pipe.
Anbernic will begin selling the RG406V on September 19 at 10:00 UTC. Initially, the device will be available in Black Transparent, Grey, and Off-White colour options for $154.99 before shipping. While the colour options will remain unchanged post-launch, the RG406V will rise to $164.99 after September 22.
