The Xiaomi Mijia Body Composition Scale S400 Pro is crowdfunding in China. The new model shares many similarities with the older Body Composition Scale S400. The main difference between the two products is the addition of a 3.5-inch TFT color display for the Pro version.

The Body Composition Scale S400 Pro’s screen can show you how your latest measurement compares to older data. Plus, it can provide interactive guidance on how to use the scale to ensure you get the most accurate readings. The new model offers the same 25 health indicators as the original, including weight, heart rate, BMI and muscle mass. These are collected using dual-frequency bioelectrical impedance technology, with a low frequency of 50 kHz and a high frequency at 250 kHz.

The scale can store up to 160 data sets, and thanks to Bluetooth 5.0, you can also view your statistics in the Mi Home app. The scales measure 300 x 300 mm (~11.8 x 11.8 inches), support weights up to 150 kg (~330 lbs) and use ITO-coated glass. The pledge required to back the Xiaomi Mijia Body Fat Scale S400 Pro crowdfunding campaign in China is 179 yuan (~$25), a 70 yuan (~$9) discount on the 249 yuan (~$35) RRP. It is unclear whether or when this device could launch in other markets like Europe, where it would compete with models like the Withings Body Smart Scale.
