The recent PlayStatation 5 Pro announcement caused quite a stir among fans and enthusiasts. Its prohibitively high price tag plus lack of a disk drive/vertical stand resulted it in being one of the most disliked console reveals on YouTube. In titles that aren't visually demanding, the coveted 4K 120 Hz milestone could be possible, something Sony is trying out actively.

Sony's in-house AI-powered upscaling tech, PSSR, has also received internal revision. Apparently, Sony has added 'just usable enough RAM' to the PlayStation 5 Pro via 'Memory system optimizations'. For CPU intensive titles, developers can squeeze out 10% more performance at the expense of just 1.5% GPU performance. Then again, that won't account for much as its aging Zen 2 CPU will almost certainly be unable to keep up with the newer GPU.

It'll be a while before we find out how the PlayStation 5 Pro performs in real life While some predicted it could be close to the Radeon RX 7700 XT, others speculate it could go as high as a Radeon RX 7800 XT thanks to identical CU count and new raytracing features.
