Leaker reveals insight into new DJI Ronin camera gimbal stabiliser release

DJI has just confirmed the release date of an Osmo Action 4 successor, over a year after the action camera's initial launch. For context, the Osmo Action 5 Pro is set to debut a fortnight following the introduction of the Neo, a 135 g drone that weighs a mere $199. However, it appears that DJI could have more products lined up for release soon, too.

On the one hand, recent leaks suggest that it could have another new drone in the works. As of now, this new drone is expected to be the Air 3S, not the Mavic 4. The latter has been spotted in recent months as well though, meaning that we would not rule of a 2024 launch just yet.

On the other hand, Igor Bogdanov has spotted early evidence that DJI has developed a new entry in its RS 4 series of camera gimbals. To recap, the company debuted the RS 4 and RS 4 Pro in April 2024. Based on the screenshot below though, it seems that the company is looking to introduce a new 'Mini' model, too.

Not only would this expand the RS 4 range to three variants, but it would replace the existing RS 3 Mini (curr. $249 - refurbished on Amazon). Unfortunately, the certification image that Bogdanov has provided does not provide any specifics about the RS 4 Mini. With that being said, we can glean a few details from DJI's existing camera gimbals.

For instance, one could reasonably expect DJI to market its next 'Mini' camera gimbal at lighter cameras like mirrorless solutions that weigh up to around 2 kg. Added to that, the RS 4 Mini will likely undercut theRS 4andRS 4 Proon price too, which DJI sells for $549 and $869, respectively. It remains to be seen whether DJI will continue to go as low as a $279 MSRP for its next 'Mini' camera gimbal though, nor when the company plans to release it at this stage.
