Reolink Smart Battery Doorbell upgrades to \'world-first\' 2K resolution and 1:1 view

Reolink'slatest Smart Doorbell is battery-powered, yet is touted as being on par with fixed-power alternatives with a class-leading new spec (thereby possibly beating Eufy to the same in the process).

The new accessory's 4MP sensor also switches to a 1:1 aspect-ratio, as opposed to 4:3 in its wiredpredecessor. Reolink asserts that it gives the user a better vertical view, thereby increasing their chances of seeing a caller "from head to toe".

The new Battery Doorbell can also spot other things on the other side of the door, with features such as AI package detection and tracking in case of theft. It is also compatible with microSD cards of up to 256GB in size - although one will also have to buy a Reolink Home Hub (now $99.99 on Amazon) for any further storage.

The Hub is dual-band (2.4/5GHz) Wi-Fi, and so is the newBattery Doorbell: a spec typically reserved for counterparts with wired power. Reolink also touts it as an easy-install accessory that lasts up to 5 months of use per charge with a7,000mAh capacity and that can integrated with Google Assistant and Alexa.
