Paldon't! Catizen Players Disappointed Over Low $CATI Rewards
After the Telegram-based clicker game, Catizen, revealed to its players the number of $CATI each would earn for farming for almost nine months, the game received backlash because the players were unsatisfied with receiving unfair airdrop rewards.
Telegram-based clicker game Catizen recently revealed to its players the number of $CATI each would earn for farming for almost nine months. However, the game received backlash as players were left unsatisfied with the airdrop rewards they would be receiving.
According to players, the airdrop rewards were allocated unfairly, with some players receiving a disproportionately low amount of $CATI compared to their efforts in the game. This led to disappointment and complaints among the players, who felt that they were not being adequately compensated for their time and dedication to Catizen.
In response to the backlash, Catizen stated that they had detected players using bots to farm points and that they adjusted the criteria for airdrop rewards accordingly. However, players also discovered that out of the 34% total supply of $CATI allocated for airdrop, only below 15% of the total supply will be distributed for this campaign’s airdrop to players.
“During the data review for this CATI airdrop, we discovered that numerous bot accounts exploited this public rule by using scripts to boost their vKitty profit speed, attempting to gain a disproportionate amount of CATI tokens. In this situation, following the original airdrop criterion would significantly undermine the benefits of genuine players and community supporters!”
The game also highlighted that they had to adjust the criteria to ensure that genuine players were fairly rewarded. However, the players’ disappointment stemmed from the fact that they were not informed about these changes or the specific criteria used to determine airdrop rewards.
“They first said 43% of the supply would be airdropped to farmers but later changed it to 16%. The airdrop allocation they gave us is small compared to what we were expecting. I will leverage the rewarding events launched by some crypto exchanges like Bitget to earn more CATI.”
Damien Dotou, X User and Player, Catizen
As per the game’s Tokenomics, 43% of the total $CATI supply was allocated for farming airdrops, while 30% was allocated to the Cativerse DAO. The remaining percentages were allocated to the founders, team, advisors, and reserves.
The official listing of $CATI will be on September 20, 2024, which will allow players to withdraw their airdrop rewards on crypto exchanges.
Considering that the token’s actual price on launch will follow the pre-market fiat value, are $CATI rewards really worth it? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
